Project Period: since August 2020 until today
Olaf-Taw is an educational institution in north-eastern Syria that specializes in the transmission of the Aramaic language (Suryoyo). To this end, modern curricula were developed with this learning goal in mind. With the support of Caritas Slovakia, a project was launched to purchase child-friendly materials and cartoons. This will help the children to deepen/acquire their language skills in Aramaic. In addition, the cartoons are accompanied by music, which is played by trainers with piano music. In turn, these are to be heard by other children, so that mutual appreciation and tolerance should result. As children of different ethnicities are part of the institution, the values are transferable. The children learn to respect diversity and experience the benefits of different cultures.
