Syriac Cross continues to provide emergency assistance to refugees and IDPs as well as local families in need. Since the outbreak of the Syrian war, the cost of living in Syria has increased, making it a challenge to survive. Provinces with a high influx of IDPs, such as Al-Hassaka province, are particularly affected. Therefore, Syriac Cross continues to focus on distributing different types of relief items to people in need.
From July to September 2018, Syriac Cross was able to distribute 401 food parcels and 401 hygiene kits; more than 3,900 people have benefited from this project.
When implementing emergency projects, Syriac Cross carries out distributions without distinguishing between religion and ethnicity.
This project was funded by Caritas Slovakia. Already in June, Syriac Cross was able to implement a similar project with the support of Caritas Slovakia.
