Following the establishment of Syriac Cross in Syria in 2013, our organisation has seen an expansion on a European level. Since 2015, Syriac Cross has been registered as a non-profit association in Sweden, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. In Switzerland, the offshoot was registered under the name SCHlomo.
In the individual countries, different projects are on the agenda to organise aid for Suryoye and others in need in the Middle East. The projects as a whole are very complex. Emergency aid in the form of hygiene and food packages, the supply of heating oil and winter blankets as well as support for reconstruction are just a few examples.
During a TV programme on Suroyo TV in Sweden, the aid network presented this work and explained further goals.
The individual representatives were able to exchange information about their activities and reflect on their work. Future plans were also presented so that they could complement each other and take away new ideas.
After the TV broadcast, all representatives met again for a workshop to define further cooperation and collaboration.
