Reconstruction projects in Iraq
Zakho, Iraq – Sweets and Confectionery Shop
In Zakho, we supported the establishment of a sweets and confectionery shop alongside a mini-market, implemented in cooperation with our member organization, the Beth Nahrain Organization for Women (BNOW). These small businesses serve a dual purpose: responding to local demand for everyday essentials and confectionery products, while generating stable income opportunities for business owners and employees. By strengthening local entrepreneurship, the initiative contributes to improved access to essential goods and enhances the community’s overall economic resilience.
Duhok, Iraq – Truck Accessories
In Duhok, we supported the launch of a market and a truck accessories business, also implemented in partnership with BNOW. These enterprises cater to both local consumers and the regional transport and logistics sector, providing essential products and services while creating sustainable livelihood opportunities. Through these investments, we aim to stimulate local economic activity, diversify income sources, and promote long-term financial stability for business owners and their communities.
