Cultural Institute Olaf Taw eleases the animated series “Mira’s World“
Founded in 2020, the Olaf Taw Cultural Institute is dedicated to the teaching and preservation of the Aramaic language through the development of modern, inclusive educational curricula. Its programs integrate democratic values, coexistence, and human rights, ensuring that language education is both culturally rooted and socially relevant. Over the years, the institute has produced a wide range of educational resources, including children’s fairy-tale videos, and in 2023 it launched a children’s film series designed to make learning Aramaic engaging and accessible.
In 2024, the institute brought Mira’s World to life—an imaginative 3D animated children’s series that bridges past and present. Guided by Mira’s magical, time-traveling brush, young audiences embark on adventures that explore key moments in history, both before and after the time of Christ. A distinctive feature of the series is the inclusion of English subtitles, which enable Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian children in the diaspora to reconnect with their ancestral language by hearing and reading Aramaic simultaneously.
Ensuring that future generations grow up with knowledge of their native tongue—Aramaic, the language spoken by Jesus Christ—is essential to preserving cultural, spiritual, and historical identity. Through initiatives like Mira’s World, Olaf Taw not only strengthens linguistic heritage but also promotes intercultural understanding, mutual respect, and a deeper awareness of shared history, reinforcing the enduring values of coexistence.
