Ashtarout Women’s Shelter

The women’s shelter in Al-Hassaka was established to provide abused, humiliated, and vulnerable women and their children with a safe place of refuge. Such a project was urgently needed, as many women in the region frequently experience violence and require a protected environment.

In addition to ensuring their safety, the women at Ashtarout receive comprehensive support from qualified and dedicated staff. They are guided on their path toward a new, self-determined life and are offered a variety of opportunities for the future — including counseling, psychological support, and assistance with social and professional reintegration.

In total, 102 women have found a safe haven at the Ashtarout Women’s Shelter.
