Ongoing crisis in Lebanon
Communities along Lebanon’s southern border have been severely affected by the ongoing conflict, forcing many Christian families to flee their villages in search of safety. Persistent tensions, periodic shelling, and continued military escalation have created an increasingly volatile environment, leaving civilians trapped in conditions of constant uncertainty. Displacement has resulted in the loss of homes, livelihoods, and access to basic services, placing immense pressure on families within an already fragile economy. Amid soaring inflation, limited resources, and an overstretched humanitarian system, displaced households struggle to meet even their most basic daily needs.
In response to this crisis, our local member organization, the Syriac Youth Union, provided emergency assistance to 300 Christian families. Support included the distribution of hot meals to families sheltering in churches, as well as food parcels delivered to displaced households staying in their homes.
Implemented in close cooperation with local churches, this intervention aimed to deliver immediate relief to families forced to flee escalating violence. By addressing urgent needs and restoring a measure of stability, the initiative offered essential support and reassurance to affected families during a time of profound uncertainty.
