Project objective and project activities
The Middle East is suffering from years of war and severe economic collapse, which has led to the closure of institutions and businesses as the Corona virus spreads, increasing poverty and hunger. The Corona pandemic is pushing people all over the world to their limits. In Iraq, Lebanon, Syria and Turkey (Tur Abdin), the already difficult economic and monetary crisis is worsening. The consequences are manifested in a difficult food situation and are pushing the health system to its limits. There is an urgent emergency situation.
Poverty and despair will not go into quarantine. During the Christmas season, we ask you to give hope to children with your donation and to think of those who are threatened by despair due to their suffering life situation.
In order to provide support for the situation mentioned in the context, the network of SCHlomo and Syriac Cross, together with national relief organisations in the Middle East, would like to distribute Christmas gifts for the celebration of joy and charity.
The distributions will take place in Iraq, Syria, Turabdin and Lebanon.
Iraq: 600 Christmas gifts to be distributed
Syria: 600 Christmas gifts to be distributed
Lebanon: 400 Christmas gifts to be distributed
Turabdin: 400 Christmas gifts to be distributed
A total of 2,000 Christmas gifts will be distributed.
During the distribution, our volunteers will dress up as Father Christmas and make children’s eyes light up. There will be music, dancing and singing so that the children can celebrate a hopefully unforgettable Christmas. What is special about this project is that children of all religions will receive gifts.
The Christmas gifts will include toys for toddlers aged 1 – 3 years as well as for children aged 4 – 12 years.
Our aid network has been able to carry out Christmas campaigns in the Middle East in previous years and we hope that with your financial support we will be able to celebrate the festival of charity with the people in need again this year.
