“The planned family centre gives us hope. It shows us that we are not forgotten and that we can count on a helping hand,” says Hanna M. from Qamishli.
The progress of the project makes the local people feel positive. Since the purchase of the building, renovation work has begun. This was made possible as a result of various information events, among others at several Rotary Clubs in the Hamburg area, where donations were collected for the family centre.
We are happy to share the first pictures with you and hope to find more donors and supporters to help us show people in Syria a perspective for the future.
Info: The location of the family centre is in the province of Al-Hassaka, which is currently home to around 450,000 internally displaced people. The family centre is intended to be a place of refuge for women, children, elderly people and people with disabilities. Offers such as painting therapy courses, literacy, language and sewing courses are planned to give the visitors a perspective for a life in Syria. An in-house kitchen supports families in need and offers space for social interaction.
