Humanitarian aid has become a necessity in Gozarto (al-Jazeera: Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria), especially since living conditions have deteriorated due to the Turkish military offensive. As a result, border crossings are closed, the economic situation has deteriorated and the battle for Idlib has intensified.
Malik Hanna, Syria Country Coordinator, during recent project activities:
“Syriac Cross has been active in Gozarto (al-Jazeera) since 2013. We offer our support in the region even though we face many difficulties to get supplies in the region. Our thanks go to all our partners and sponsors who enable us to offer aid projects. We thank everyone who contributes and supports us in ensuring goods reach those in need.”
Many donations that reach Syriac Cross come from Suryoye (Chaldeans, Arameans, Assyrians) from the diaspora) and foundations/donors such as Shai Fund, Stichting Ismael, Caritas Slovakia as well as European companies and social and cultural associations.
