The war in Syria has left its mark. Many people are suffering heavy losses, have become widows or orphans. The social security network is no longer functioning properly and financial resources are scarce to access necessary medical help.
In this project, we identified people with diseases who, without financial support, would not be able to undergo necessary surgeries and comply with their medication procedures. Thus, people with very low income as well as acute diseases were primarily selected in our need’s assessment.
Once the individual patients were identified, an initial visit was made to review the medical reports. Accordingly, the amount available was divided among the beneficiaries.
This project was able to support 9 persons. Each person has received financial support according to their needs and complexity. 6 surgical procedures, additional treatments, various medical examinations and the necessary medicines were financed.
The continuation of this project is in our interest despite the high workload. More donations are needed to make this a reality.
This project was funded by Shai Fund and Syriac Cross e.V.
